Start BEFORE March 31st and Get ONE YEAR of weekly live calls!

The Sweet Spot course gives you a clear system for healthy, willing movement, the understanding to problem-solve when things don't feel quite right, and real people to talk to when you feel confused or stuck.
Partnership and Communication

Learn the most important foundational elements that will lead to healthy posture and harmonious connection. Fear, force, and confusion work against healthy movement. Learn how to develop relaxation, cooperation, and clarity from the beginning.
Healthy Biomechanics

Harmonious education - Learn the Sweet Spot protocol for helping your horse become relaxed, energized, balanced, and freer moving (on the ground and under saddle).
The Sweet Spot is a place of ease based on quality communication that feels so good to your horse that he begins to seek it and offer it in lightness.
Rider Harmony

Learn how to use the Sweet Spot protocol to improve your position without creating tension in you or your horse. More than just a pretty picture - You'll find a place of balance and ease that is functional and that you and your horse can agree upon.
Whether you are going down the trail, playing in your arena at home, or competing - The Sweet Spot protocol will forever change your approach with your horse.

You want to learn dressage in a way that honors and builds partnership with your horse.
You have no interest in 'dressage' but want to move with your horse in a healthy, harmonious way.
You are an experienced rider with a horse who isn't progressing with 'normal' methods.
You're thinking there must be a better way than what you are currently being told to do.
You crave a community of like-minded, nonjudgmental people who support you in prioritizing the relationship with your horse as you progress.

Many riders invest in lessons with the goal of improving. They may learn skills, but their confidence declines, and they find themselves stuck in a frustrating pattern:
Progress in the moment, then uncertainty for the rest of the week.
Has this happened to you?
You leave a session motivated, then a few days later, you realize you don't know how to re-create what you felt in the lesson, and are afraid to do something wrong. At some point, you realize you are making the opposite of progress.
You get three things most students are missing:
✅ A clear, proven protocol for building healthy, willing, harmonious movement in partnership.
✅ Empowerment & independent problem-solving built into the system
✅ Real, live support from qualified instructors and a knowledgeable community.
In this online program you're not left guessing, and you don't have to keep spending money without a clear, consistent direction.
We keep our promise:
You get a clear process and the support to apply it. With private coaching, weekly live calls, and a dedicated Facebook group, there is always a way to connect and help you stay on track.
The Sweet Spot course experience is built so you can ask questions, get unstuck, and keep moving forward as you put it into practice.

Move through the course step by step, with a clear focus for what to practice next.
Share questions and wins inside the private community as you go.
Submit questions for the weekly live Q&A calls - Or just listen to the discussion.
If you can’t attend live, you can hear the answer to your question in the recordings.
Take advantage of the BONUS 6-month free access to the Video Classroom - Coaches will often recommend videos to support your specific challenges.
You can pick the Instructor of your choice or we can help match you up.
After you’ve used your included sessions, you can book additional coaching at a reduced rate whenever you’d like (optional)
You keep lifetime access to all the course materials.
You can get access to another 6 months of the weekly live group calls anytime in the future if you need some more help.

Nobody, but nobody, has an independent learning program this good! I would confidently and enthusiastically recommend it!"

The Sweet Spot - A quick video overview from Karen.

Your Teacher, Karen Rohlf:
Karen honors horses as living beings and values harmony and willingness over forced results. Her light-hearted attitude and a belief that anything is possible have given her a unique perspective that breathes new life into common dressage training practices and delivers results for both horses and riders of every discipline.
Karen is the creator of Dressage Naturally and is an internationally recognized clinician who is changing the way students learn. She is well-known for her student-empowering teaching and unique methods that include the horse as a willing participant in the process.
With decades of experience in training horses and riders from zero to Grand Prix, Karen believes in getting to the heart of our mental, emotional, and physical partnership with our horses by bringing together the best of the worlds of dressage and partnership-based training.
Move through the course step by step at your own pace.
Each module builds on the last, so you always know what to focus on next.
We help you know when to stay and go deeper, and when to move on to the next module.

This is where you will learn how dressage and natural horsemanship combine so you can have the best of both worlds. You also will discover the parts of your foundation that you will especially want to have working well in order to get the most out of the exercises to improve your horse’s posture.

The first step in creating the dream is creating the ingredients! You will learn how to get 100% responsiveness to the communications necessary to effect your horse’s posture and find the sweet spot of healthy biomechanics. Problems here are the source of at least 80% of the disharmony I see between riders and horses.

Put the ingredients together in a way where you and your horse are sharing the movement. Learn how to cause your horse to participate in sustaining the sweet spot. This is where you will find greater harmony and lightness in self carriage!

It’s only fair that we address your human posture too! Learn ways to change and improve your posture in a very unique and lasting way! Develop a more effective position without creating tension!

Learn the true purpose of the reins, and how to connect with them. Learn how to preserve self-carriage, and understand when and why to use a bitless bridle or hackamore versus a bit. Learn concepts and exercises to set you and your horse up for true lightness in connection.

This is where you solidify your sweet spot of healthy biomechanics and harmonious connection and take it forward with you. Learn concepts and exercises for Flexibility, Mobility, and Collectibility that will allow you to gymnastically develop yourself and your horse.
The majority of students rate this course a 5 out of 5 and say they would confidently and enthusiastically recommend it to their friends.
Here are a few Sweet Spot experiences from students:
Nobody has an independent learning program this good! I've recommended it to many friends.

There is no judgment or criticism. It is pure learning at your own pace, but with continual support and encouragement

This completely changed my attitude to myself, my horse and training. It is like the Christmas present you have been dreaming of all your life - almost every day

Many students have loved the Sweet Spot course as their first time learning with Karen. It was created to accommodate a wide range of students. Karen often says: "If you only do ONE course - do the Sweet Spot course" because it is so universally transformational. The concepts and exercises taught can be done in more novice or advanced ways. If your most immediate challenge is related to basic handling and the relationship between you and your horse, and you're not as concerned about the way your horse moves, the Habits For Excellent Horsemanship course may be a good place to start, but students have found the Sweet Spot course also improves their partnership and basics. Many students get both courses and can practice them at the same time.
Many students in Sweet Spot are able to continue with their local instructor or trainer. Every situation is different - some instructors embrace the process and are able to help, some are simply amazed at their student’s progress, and some can be resistant to independent learning. We can help you navigate this on an individual basis through the course support systems.
No. Sweet Spot is a necessary prerequisite for the Upward Spiral course. The information in Sweet Spot gives you the concepts and exercises that help keep harmony as you move up the gymnastic ladder.
No! We love being a student’s first experience with dressage. We also love dressage students who are looking for a fresh perspective on how to do dressage for the horse in a way that both horse and rider can enjoy. And we love non-dressage riders too - because healthy biomechanics and good basics support everything you do in the saddle, no matter your discipline.
No problem at all! Learning to have a harmonious and healthy connection with your horse so he moves in a relaxed, energized, and balanced way will be beneficial no matter what discipline you do. We've had students who trail ride, do endurance, jumping, driving, eventing, western, working equitation, and just backyard pleasure riding (and more) love this course and find it helpful.
That’s okay. You can still submit questions even if you can’t attend live, and recordings are posted inside the course within 24 hours. Our students get huge value from the recordings and the ongoing support in the community.
Your tuition includes two private video coaching sessions with the DN Licensed Instructor of your choice (or we can help pair you with the best one for you). You’ll book using the link provided inside the course. After you use your included sessions, you can purchase additional coaching at a reduced rate if you’d like extra eyes on your progress.
The most important prerequisite is an open, curious mindset. This course is for most riders, from novice to advanced, who can comfortably walk, trot, and canter with an independent seat. If you have a young horse you can start applying these exercises on the ground to help them move well prior to riding. Older horses also benefit from the balance and ease taught in this program.
If you are experiencing major foundational issues such as rearing, exploding, bolting, or have major fear issues, we recommend you prioritize making progress with that first.
These professionals were personally selected and trained by Karen Rohlf. They are expert in Dressage Naturally concepts, skills, and teaching methods. They are talented horsewomen. Even more importantly, they are kind, non-judgmental, and supportive human beings who really want you and your horse to be the best you can be!

YOU GET:

As a horsemanship enthusiast for well over 20 years, I must admit that [with Karen] I have experienced the best of trainers in my progress to date.
This course fills the gap I was experiencing with the western horsemanship training, marrying it well and truly into the bridled dressage training which I was yearning for.
- Lisa Howell
The virtual arena Sweet Spot course was a perfect way for me to learn at my own pace, at the speed we could manage. I was previously going it alone and it was easy to lose motivation. The course kept me on track with goal setting along the way. Daily interaction on Facebook and biweekly calls [in the maximum engagement group] made me part of a group of like minded, horse loving independent learners...
The biggest change was in my way of thinking. Now we (me and my horses) are doing things together versus me doing things to them. It is simply more enjoyable and lots more fun.
- Crystine
No matter what stage you are at in your own personal journey, the information in each module is all there to help and guide you through. Even if you feel overwhelmed with the amount of information, there is no pressure. It is your own journey, and there is time to absorb, and go back and forth in the modules at your own pace.
There is no judgement or criticism. It is pure learning at your own pace, but with continual support and encouragement. I have gained far more confidence and trust in my own ability.
My horse and I are more of a unit and seem to blend together more in a better partnership. I am far more aware of the importance of healthy biomechanics and now have more knowledge on diagnosing and deciding what needs to be worked on to improve.
- Kathleen
I loved this course! It provided me an opportunity to progress in my horsemanship along a path that was easy to follow, constantly stimulating, and full of information in a supportive and positive atmosphere.
It was fun and very satisfying for both me and my horse! Now I am more empowered to affect the posture and emotional stability of my horse in a positive way.
I have knowledge of what my horse needs and of what I can do to provide the opportunity for her to succeed.
